The Bridge to Music series aims at imparting music literacy to school children. The teaching method focuses on core music education, and not at teaching any specific musical instrument. Since music is a performing art, use of a musical instrument is indispensable. Hence, the instrument used is ‘Voice’, as the use of any other musical instrument is not only impractical for group instruction but also counterproductive for public school system. The method of teaching, which makes use of musical games, singing, group activities, etc., is highly interactive and fun. The books focus mainly on three areas of music education namely Theory of Music, Ear Training and Music Appreciation. Training in these elements of music helps students build a strong foundation in fundamentals of music that is needed in learning an instrument, and more importantly, helps them gain a lifelong appreciation for music.
